Group Photo from Caballeros de Dimas Alang Social Box Dance

This is a group photograph of the girls who were part of the social box dances. 11 girls stand together in nice dresses, the girl in the middle wears a sash that reads "Lodge #601 L.D.T" At these dances, women would sit in their chairs and if it was their turn the uncles would approach the girls to dance with them. Juanita, who is 16 in this photograph and can be identified standing second from the right, remarked: "You can see how thrilled I am." This dance was held at the Salinas community hall and was most likely an event held by the Caballeros de Dimas-Alang.
