Title
Archie and Margaret Lopez In Front of St. Patrick's Church
Description
A reproduction of a photograph of Archie and Margaret Lopez's wedding in front of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Watsonville. Their daughter, Rosario Lopez, explained that Caballeros de Dimas-Alang lodge members helped the couple pay for their wedding with an attendance of over 500 guests. Archie and Margaret Lopez originally got married out of state because of the antimisegenation laws. When this law was passed they had a celebratory marriage ceremony as both a testament to their love and a victory for the Watsonville community as a whole. The reproduction was created by Rosario Lopez for a family bulletin board.
